| jlhin's Full Review: Activity Walker |
Now that my daughter is on a crawling frenzy, she is also starting to pull up and take her first steps while hanging on to objects. She received the Fisher Price Activity Walker for Christmas from her uncle, but we had not taken it out of the box until just a few days ago. When I noticed that she was attempting to pull up on some of her toys, I decided that it was time for the Activity Walker.
Cost
Since my daughter received this is as a Christmas gift, I decided to check online for an approximate cost. After searching several different online stores, the cheapest price I found it at was $23.99.
Taking Baby Steps
My daughter was hesitant about using this toy at first. With some assistance from mommy and daddy though, she has become a pro at pulling up and walking around with it. She can't walk for very long though since the muscles in her legs aren't quite strong enough. However, for the little time she is up and about she's having a blast!
The Activity Walker is really quite sturdy. Before taking it out of the box I was rather skeptical about letting my daughter hold on to this toy while attempting to walk. I was really surprised at just how sturdy it was.
There are two ways to use this toy. You can stand it up and baby uses it as a walker, or you can fold it down flat and baby can play with the different toys. To fold it down, simply press in the release buttons and pull the legs out. Same goes for standing it up. The fold down option makes it a cinch to store as well. The middle part that contains the toys also flips down, but we have yet to use this feature. Assembling is a cinch just take it out of the box!
The Activity Walker is white with blue and yellow wheels, blue hand bar, and red legs. legs. The toys, which are located on the front of the toy, include a mirror, a yellow rotary dial, three spinning flaps (one is yellow and red, one is green and the third is red) and a row of 5 rings (red, yellow, blue, orange and green).
Durable & Easy To Clean
This toy, which is made out of a very sturdy non toxic plastic is wonderfully durable. It has held up well to my daughter's quite abusive playing habits. ;) We often take it with us to grandma and grandpa's house as well, and it's even held up well under the abuse of their chewing puppy!
The toy is a cinch to clean, just take a warm rag and some soap and wash it. Dirt and even hand prints wipe away with ease.
Overall Opinion
I would highly recommend the Fisher Price Activity Walker for anyone looking for a toy that encourages baby's walking skills. My daughter improves her steps each day, and I'm positive this toy has helped to encourage her to do so. The toys are bright and colorful, so even if your baby isn't to the pulling up and tentative stepping stage, he or she will still enjoy it!
