| Shanny21's Full Review: Activity Walker |
Now that my daughter has started trying to walk I knew it was time to find something that would help her get up and go! I looked all around for a good walker toy. We saw ones that could convert into a little push car and some simple walkers that didn't do a whole lot.
I wanted something that would be put to good use even after the fact my daughter was walking well on her own. The Fisher Price Activity Walker, offers that and is actually a useful toy even before they are getting ready to walk. Recommended ages on the box starts at 6 months and goes to 36 months. I am figuring my daughter will get some good use out of this toy.
How easy is it to set up?
There is little set up and no assembly required!!! When you open the box the Fisher Price Activity Walker is latched and folded so it takes up less space. To get your Activity Walker into the upright position.
You will have to pull the yellow strap that keeps it latched down and pull it away from the button (on both sides). Then all you need to do is push the legs down on the arrows (by the back wheels) and make sure it latches. :) How simple is that?
So what kind of features are on this toy that make it so great to have?
First off let me tell you about the wheels they are a bright blue and yellow. Good sized so it makes it not that easy to tip over. When you push the walker the front wheels make a clicking noises that is actually not too loud or annoying and Jasmine thinks it's pretty neat.
The handle is long and easy to grab for little fingers and hands. Making it easy for them to push it on their own :).
Toys
On the front of the Fisher Price Activity Walker there are a few toys that baby can play with.
Spinners
There are three colorful spinners at the top that help with hand eye coordination, for babies at age 6 months. As your baby gets older it just becomes fun to watch them spin. :) They are multicolored Red/Yellow (2) and Green/Blue (1).
Rotary telephone dial
When you rotate the telephone it makes a clicking noises (and what baby doesn't like noise?:))
Spinning beads
At the bottom there are five different colored beads that spin. The colors are red, yellow, blue, orange and green.
Mirror
This is one of those stick on mirrors, but we all know that most babies love to see other babies. My daughter, when she sees her reflection anytime points and laughs :).
Tray with toys folds down
After your baby gets older and is walking better and doesn't need the Fisher Price Activity Walker anymore, you can fold the tray down and make it into their own little stroller for their toys or dolls. I thought this was a neat little feature to add.
Is there anything that bothers you about this toy?
I can honestly say that there isn't much about this toy I don't like. It is easy to store and travel with. It offers toys that help younger babies develop motor skills such as hand eye coordination. It can be used even after baby is walking. The one thing I can think of that may be a problem is, if you have a boy, you might not like that fact he has a stroller toy later on?? But I could be wrong too.
So far my daughter loves to push this around on the her knees by herself but if we help her she will walk with it. She gets a great kick out of the toys and enjoys it when mommy or daddy when we help her walk.
I love the fact that this toy is so versatile and can be used for more then just a walker for your child.
