Adams Golf is still trying to break into the mainstream and have made a lot of progress. However, they have reached a point where they needed to move away from the gadget and utility clubs that got them this far. In other words, the company needed to come up with a club that they could sell to everyone because, lets face it, not all of want a utility club.
Hence, the rollout of the Adams Redline drivers. The club was not one that I expected that I would try, but after looking at it for a little while I decided that I had to see if such a beautiful club could actually produce the shots that I wanted.
I have said it before and will continue to believe that you have to like the look of a club if you are going to hit it well. I also must say that this is one of the better looking drivers on the market. The club has clean lines and the right sheen to it. To me the club head just does not seem as big as some of the others out there, but it is every bit as big. Regardless, this is one of the better looking clubs you are going to find.
Another important aspect is the feel of the club. How does it feel in your hands? Again, this is important for the simple reason that the grip is the only thing that connects the club to your body. You want it to feel good in your hands. The Redline feels feels good, but not great. I got the feeling that the club head was lighter than others and, hence, threw off the feel.
Ultimately, the only that matters is performance. The club can be ugly and feel horrible, but if you can hit it as well as you want to who cares. The Redline performs significantly better than I expected. I had a friend tell me that he gained "at least 15 yards" when using the Redline. Of course, I laughed that off. I shouldn't have. I gained at least 10 yards. The ball just jumps off the club head. The trajectory is what I like to call a towering line drive- or what you want for optimal distance. I had a little trouble working the ball, but rarely wanted to. Every shot came off long and straight. I was shocked at how far I could hit this driver and at how straight it went.
But best of all, the Redline is not going to break the bank. You can get one for under $300.00. Amazing! Even more so when you consider what the some of the competition is charging for their latest offerings. Which is why I say that the Redline is the best deal I have come across this year in the entire golf market.
The bottom line with the Adams Golf Redline Driver is the company has made a very good driver that can help any level of player. The club really is one of the best that I have hit all year. I highly recommend it and suggest that everyone give it a try before purchasing a more expensive model.
