Adidas ClimaCool GTF: Finally a gimic that works!

Throughout the years, shoe companies have been coming up with useless gimics strictly for the purpose of promoting their products in an innovative sense (we all remember the horribly uncomfortable Reebok Pump shoes!). Therefore, I was quite skeptical when the shoe salesman recommended the "ClimaCool" shoe by Adidas. My original intent that day was to pick up a pair of New Balance runners, but they didn't have the particular model I was after, so I though "what the heck, it couldn't hurt to try them on." I figured at most, they might feel a little cooler, but they certainly wouldn't be as comfortable as the pair of New Balances I was wearing. Boy was I wrong!!
Before trying them on, the salesman, who was wearing a pair himself, told me how the side ventilation and the perforated heal with the vent on the bottom helped make this shoe the most breathable ever produced (yes, there are actually small holes in the heel that go all of the way through the shoe, and on the bottom there is a plastic vent that directs air up into the shoe when in motion).
I figured it would be just another useless gimic, but when I slipped my feet into those ClimaCools, I could immediately feel the air against both sides of my feet. I then walked around the store, and while I was walking, I could feel the air on my heel. It was amazing! These things actually do work! And along with that, they are extremely comfortable and lightweight! When I tried them on, my first thought was that they made my New Balance 764s feel cheap!
Without hesitation, I bought the shoes, and I must say, that was probably the best money I ever spent! I have covered around 50 miles in my Clima Cools thus far, and they continue to perform like a brand new shoe. They are extremely comfortable, and the stability is terrific, especially for overpronators like me. The sole has held up incredibly well, and there is no tearing in any of the mesh.
