| Donny's Full Review: Adidas Gazelle |
Gazelles are money. In terms of style, they are rivaled only by low top Chuck Taylors in terms of universal appeal. And like Chucks, color is the only point of contention. (Blue are my favorite.) The suede leather and padded tongue are incredibly comfortable and the shoe provides a surprising amount of support. In fact, you won't have any problems with these shoes...unless you try to play in them.
Adidas markets them as "top notch indoor trainers." This is just untrue. The sole is a soft rubber which will wear out extremely quickly and the thin outer layer of rubber is just not strong enough to endure the pounding and pressure of practices. After two or three practices I guarantee you will have trouble with the toe of the shoe holding together. Wear them to the mall and you'll be the smoothest cat around -- wear them to practice and you'll be back in the store before you know it, and at $60/pair, that's not where you want to be.
