Pros:This is a great thing to have for many reasons. SEE REVEIW
Cons:I can't think of any at all.
The Bottom Line: If you are expecting guests, or you expect to BE a guest, without having the GUEST room capabilities. This is just what you are looking for!!!

Married 6 months ago, and still thinking about all the great gifts we received. I thought I would write about this awesome Aerobed Mattress.

You know if you had asked me about 5 years ago what I thought about owning one of these, I would have said… “Yeah right, I wouldn’t waste my time or my money on something like that” That was about the time I had gone camping with my mother… My friend and I had a tent, and my mother’s queen size air mattress… I bet it wasn’t an Aerobed brand. Because that mattress was as flat as a pancake by about 2 AM. It was just like sleeping on the cold ground. I think I ended up waking everyone up around me, with terms like… “WHAT THE HECK KIND OF DEAL IS THIS?”

About 3 years ago when moving to the area I live in now, I stayed with my in-laws where I slept on an Aerobed for three weeks before moving into my new house. (waiting for the closing etc, you know how that goes) Back to the bed…. To my surprise, the bed was actually very comfortable. It didn’t deflate on me while I slept. What I liked most about it, was that I could deflate it myself the way it's supposed to be done each morning, and then inflate it again at night…. It made it so easy to keep their house looking as it should without the appearance of having guests. =)

The bed set up only took seconds. Theres was a queen size bed, and although I never timed how long it actually took to set it up and take it down. I have however, timed the Aerobed that my husband and I received as a wedding gift. We have a FULL SIZE Aerobed.

SETUP TIME

The Set up time (Time to inflate) takes LESS than 60 seconds according to their advertisements, but I can say that the Full size mattress takes only about 20 – 30 seconds to inflate. You simply unroll the mattress, and plug it in. There is a button on the recessed built in motor which is attached to the mattress. Push a button, and watch it fill with air. When I say 20 – 30 seconds, I am not kidding. You should see the mattress just SSSSHHHHEEWWWP and you are done. You can also pump up your mattress and then unplug the pump and move it where you wish, (even outside) you don't have to keep it plugged into an outlet.
To DEFLATE, I would say it is quick, maybe in about 15 seconds.

What is it Made Out Of?

This mattress is made out of PVC vinyl and comes with a powder blue mattress pad, which by the way says Aerobed all over it, not that it matters if it says it or not, but…. I just thought I’d add that tidbit of info. The mattress pad is fairly thick, and it’s quilted. This mattress pad is also machine washable. It helps make you feel comfortable while sleeping on your Aerobed mattress. I swear to you, you would NEVER know it was a mattress filled with air.

I bought a set of FULL sheets for this air mattress, and found that they fit the mattress perfectly. When asking my husband for his input on this mattress, I shutter to think what he would say if he were writing the review. But I will put it in more delicate terms. His idea of a great mattress and what makes him love the mattress so much is its ability to keep its air, and firmness without deflating during those intimate moments. (Like you’d really want to be doing that if you were staying at someone’s house or something) ha ha ha…. Typical mind of a man I must say!!! Ha ha ha…. Sorry Guys if you are reading this… but hey, it might be just what you needed to hear to help you decide whether you would want to purchase this or not.

For Cleaning your Mattress

This vinyl mattress is able to be cleaned easily. A little bit of warm soap and water and it just wipes off easily. But before storing your bed away you should really make sure you allow time for it to completely DRY. You wouldn't want to cause mildew or mold. Once you get that sort of smell on things, you will NEVER get it out.

We got our Aerobed from Bed Bath & Beyond as a wedding gift. The different sizes have different prices obviously, but the FULL SIZE Aerobed was $149.99. Not a bad deal. I am completely happy with ours. SOOOO Now, all we need are guests! Now accepting all Reservations! Just kidding! Maybe I will have to get our mattress out and sleep in the livingroom with it, just for kicks…. Variety is the spice of life they say!

Storage

I would say the mattress doesn’t take up much space. No more than a sleeping bag would. It sure beats those “Fold away” or “Roll away” beds… Remember those? Ha ha… But you should always store your aerobed in a clean dry place, and out of extreme temperatures. Be careful not to allow your mattress to become cut or scraped. Some holes are not able to be repaired. Minor holes can be repaired, but major ones, NO!!!

The Aerobed comes in your standard sizes, (Twin, Full, Queen, & King) and the manufacturer says it will hold up to 650 pounds. So even for two 300 pound people I would think you could use it without fear of deflation.

No, but seriously, this is a great product, and I assure you, you will be pleased with yours if you decide to purchase one.
