Pros: Easily the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on.
Cons: Leaks or blowouts are inevitable and numerous in every one I've owned.
The Bottom Line: I think its worth it, leaks and all. Especially if you have any pain from conventional mattress. But wait for a sale and keep a patch kit on hand.
I've been through 2 aerobeds now, and am on my third. The first one I had was meant to be a spare bed but I found it more comfortable than my regular mattress and it soon replaced it entirely. I have never slept on anything more comfortable. Had a good, high end mattress, used to wake up in middle of the night because of pain though, in hips and back. Never with aero bed; there are no pressure points. Something is not quite right in the manufacturing though. Without fail, each has developed a number of leaks, which I've patched and patched and patched until there was at least one patch on every square weld. No, I'm not jumping on it or sleeping in my clothes and no, I'm not doing the wild thing on it either. (None of your business where :-) On this 3rd one, I've got 19 patches on the square welds and one on the edge weld (which was very hard to fix.) Its not supposed to be able to overinflate but they each, eventually, blew a chamber too, leaving a lump (fortunately its only filled with air) amoung all the regular squares. Leaks are hard to find, too. Tiny pin holes will cause the mattress to deflate overnight. The "sinking", as I've come to think of it, can wake you up itself. I really wish they could fix this because I won't sleep on anything else now. They've got a terrific product if they can just reinforce those welds. Each one has lasted me about a year before I saw a sale and put it out of its misery.
