| suzig's Full Review: Aero Raised Aerobed (Twin, Full, Queen) |
I had been looking at and thinking about getting an Aerobed for some time before I actually purchased one. When I saw it presented as the special of the day on QVC, I knew the time had come to take the plunge!
I purchased the full size so that two people could comfortably sleep on it. It will accommodate two, yet since most people are used to larger beds these days, it would be a little close for most. Nevertheless, with the comfort I don't think they would mind.
The bed came in a nylon (windbreaker type) duffle bag. It was compactly folded. When taken out of the bag, all that a person has to do is set it on the floor where you will be using it, and attach the corded plug into the receptacle on the pump of the bed. Then plug the electrical end into an outlet. Push the button to inflate. Make sure the bed's air outlet/intake is closed so you won't be losing air as fast as it fills up.
Directions are simple to follow. It actually takes a little more than a minute to inflate, as it unrolls itself into the "bed" shape. After it inflates, you can lie down on it and adjust the comfort of the air pressure by depressing a button on the pump. This will allow you to have a firm bed, or all the way to a very soft one.
The soft flannel cover will not stay on properly until the bed is fully inflated. Don't even try to keep it on when it is deflated and rolled up.
I use regular full size sheets on mine. A person could sleep on the flannel cover, as it attached with elastic bands, but I prefer to use that just underneath the sheets. Besides, it looks more like a real bed with regular sheets and blankets or quilts on it.
After your company leaves it is a snap to deflate by opening the air outlet. Lying on the bed helps the air exit much faster. Even after you think all the air is out, you still have to push and press to get all of it out. The only way you will get the bed back into the duffle bag is to get most of the air out before you attempt to put it away.
I am happy with my Imaginair Aerobed Mattress. It is just what I needed to solve my extra sleeping needs.
