This is a review of the Agent 18 clear case for iPod Touch 2G; its not just a review of a screen protector (as the epinions product description states - wrongly, I think), its the case. The case does come with a clear/stick on screen protector as well, but you are not paying $24 just for that.
The case comes in two pieces and is clear polycarbonate. The iPod fits in snugly and the two pieces snap together easily. There is completely open access to the volume, on/off, and headphone & USB ports on the bottom. No issues there whatsoever.
Case is clear so you can see the cool silver back of the iPod, the apple logo, etc (if you care). The sides of the case are ribbed for a better grip; the case feels solid.
The case is also very slim so it barely adds any bulk. It only barely intrudes on the front screen of the iPod, which is a plus as far as I am concerned. There is no intrusion over the touch screen itself. The button on the front bottom of the iPod is completely open.
Once you snap it together over your iPod, to take it off again you use a coin (a dime works best I think). Just a warning, if you use anything else to open it (a screwdriver for example) be careful as the plastic is a little soft and could mar.
I do not use the included screen protector. I hate that plastic, bubbles-trapped-under-it look that you get with those covers. I keep my iPod in a felt carrying case when I am not using it. The agent 18 case is slim enough to allow it to fit in carrying cases. The screen on the new iPod touch is pretty scratch resistent on its own and I prefer to use it without a cover on it.
I had a clear Agent 18 case for my iPod Classic for years, it protected it very well through many drops. I would rate this case a bit higher if the price was more reasonable. I think $24 for a couple of small pieces of plastic is crazy. However it seems that most cases for the iPods are overpriced in my opinion.
