| daisymae76's Full Review: Ahava Foot Care |
I have several Ahava skin care products. I am currently the owner of Ahava's bath salts, body lotion, hand lotion, cleansing bar, and the Foot Lotion. Until I purchased this set, I had never tried any of Ahava's products. I love everything I've tried so far, including the Foot Lotion.
About Ahava
Based in Israel, Ahava creates products using water from the Dead Sea. High in minerals like magnesium, calcium, and potassium, people have been relying on Dead Sea water for its benefits for years. The minerals smooth and soften skin for all around healthier looking skin.
The Basics
Ahava Foot Lotion is designed with a 3-in-1 purpose- to soften, heal, and disinfect. The Dead Sea minerals will soften hard, dry skin. Camphor contained in the lotion will heal any cracking. The lotion also includes tea tree oil to kill bacteria. It is hypo allergenic and gentle enough to use everyday.
Packaging
Like all Ahava products, the foot lotion comes in a simple 3.4 oz. white tube with a screw on lid. It is not fancy, but functional.
My Experience
My first impressions of the lotion were good. The scent of the lotion is pleasant. It smells similar to their hand and body lotions. So many foot lotions have a strong peppermint or medicinal scent. This lotion does not smell like typical foot lotions. You could easily use it on your hands or body if you needed to.
The feel of the lotion is average in consistency. Not thick and heavy like some lotions, you don't have to worry about your feet feeling sticky and coated. The foot lotion feels soft silky as you rub it into your feet. It absorbs well and feels good.
I use this lotion twice a day. I apply it in the morning before I put on my socks and also at the end of the day before bed. My feet overall feel softer and smoother. For the price, I don't think it was as effective on the tough parts as I would have liked. But overall my feet were much softer.
I think this is a good foot lotion, but I probably won't buy it again just because I can find an effective foot lotion for much cheaper. I currently love Dr. Scholl's foot care products. They work really well on my feet and cost only a few dollars per bottle. I think Ahava makes a good foot lotion, but I just can't justify spending $16 on the small tube. I would spend the money on their hand lotion; that stuff is amazing. If you get infections or have irritated feet, Ahava would be great. But I'll stick to something a little less expensive.
