Yes, for the paltry sum of $1500 you, too, can possess Aibo, the Electronic Entertainment Robot! Sony has lowered the price of these "toys" from $2500 to under $1500 for the Christmas season. What I cannot understand is why someone, who is not independently wealthy, would want Aibo. Very few budgets could stand this kind of assault during the Christmas season. And, if a family did manage to buy one of these, how would the parents feel letting the kiddies "have their way" with it?
Also, why buy Aibo with Tekno, the electronic puppy around? Tekno does a lot of the same things, is programmable and is more than fourteen hundred bucks cheaper. Obviously Sony did not produce Aibo for the masses.
Okay, back to Aibo. You think Aibo is a dog, right? Wrong. Aibo is not an electronic dog. Sony lists it as an "entertainment robot". Sounds about right to me since it doesn't really look like a dog either. It looks like a mechanical representation of some kind of animal with a tail but I can't really say which animal. Aibo, the "entertainment robot" comes in black, silver or gold metallic tones. Oh yeah, Sony will generously throw in free parts and labor for one year after the purchase (you get a lot for your 1500 bucks!).
Although I am confident that this is the best made product of its kind, I don't think it is an item most people would even consider buying. I recommend it to those people who have everything or who don't have everything but wish they did and can pay for it. Feel free to read the previous sentence twice!!
