Pros: awsome flight abilities
Cons: can't be used unless you have really large open areas, larger then a football field
In November I had to go Birthday shopping for my two boys. Their birthdays are 2 weeks apart so I tend to their shopping at the same time. I wanted something different for my soon to be 10 year old son. There it was, looking at me from the shelf...and Air Hog plane. I read the box and figured he would love it.
Once I gave the gift to my son he was jumping out of his skin. He wanted to play it right then. It was a bit late so we opted to watch the enclosed video. After watching the video I was beginning to wonder if I had made a wise choice.
So, we put the Air Hog together, which was very easy to do. The next day I took my boys to the local park. They didn't have a football field so I opted for the largest field they had. It was about the size of a football field.
After the first two flights, I was definately sure that I had bitten off more then I could chew. It was definately an awsome toy. It flew rather long distances, but never in a straight line. Much time was spent try to find the airplane in the wooded area near the park. But my son loved it, and so I was happy.
That is until about the 4th time he went to pump it up. I surpervised and know he didn't do anything wrong. The pump snapped. He was devistated, as was I. This wasn't fair to him. Once home I called the company listed on the instructions. They promised me they would send him a new pump within 2 weeks. That was November of 1999. It is now January of 2000, and the pump hasn't arrived. I am also unable to reach anyone at the number.
