Copy cats mitigate cost (Reply to this comment)
by hen1house
My wife is a convert and makes me take Airborne every time we travel by airline. We fly somewhere almost every other week.
My feelings are much in line with your evaluation. However, now that the copy cats are starting to sell essentially the same product in house brands such as for Albertson's Super Market, price will be less of an issue.
One thing that really bugs my wife is that Airborne has a rebate program for which she has sent in multiple claims in the last year and has yet to receive a single rebate in spite of writing a couple of letters to inquire as to what's going on.
Therefore, Airborne will no longer be used in this household when the current supply runs out.

my suggestion (Reply to this comment)

I have used zinc/vitamin c lozenges for about four years and the only two times I got a cold was when I stopped sucking them for 3 weeks. I get them with echinacea now, called Ultra Zinc Lozenges at GNC stores.

Well it is certainly worth a try. I wish I had known that last week.

I've never tried this, but I'm convinced COLD-EEZE (see epinion if interested) does work in reducing the severity of the common cold.

Hi! (Reply to this comment)

I do think it's likely the vitamin C that is the primary force with Airborne, and vitamin C is available for a lot less money. I used to poo-poo Vitamin C, but since have come to rely on it. If I feel like I'm getting sick, I'll take 1,000 mg every hour for about six hours. It seems to be very effective.
Great review - thanks :)
