Pros: MP3, WMA support, Great price
Cons: Skips easily, slow to change tracks
The Bottom Line: The MA01 is a good idea at a great price, but ultimately needs a couple more revisions before it will be ready to go in my car.

| eepmatt's Full Review: Aiwa CDC-MA01 Car CD/ MP3 Player |
I recently installed this player into my 2001 Jeep Wrangler, and will end up taking it out and returning it. It sounds ok, but skips far far more often than the Wrangler factory install. Granted my Jeep is not the smoothest ride, but the unit skips when driving over even minor imperfections in the road.
Even more annoying is the length of time the unit takes to change tracks. On standard CD audio files (not MP3s) skipping to the next track takes almost two full seconds. Very annoying when you're trying to find a particular track on a disk but aren't sure which one it is.
Finally, I'm not really sure what use the motorized fold-down faceplate is in terms of security. Sure, you can't see the face of the radio, but it still sticks out from the dash-- it doesn't retract flush. You'd have to be a pretty stupid thief not to know what it is...
Overall, I was excited by the idea, but need to find a better implementation.
