Pros:Quality playback, simple to use.
Cons:Add on piece, may be back ordered.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this piece to anyone who needs to replace their older turntable. It is rare to find one made with this quality anymore.
As a person who's music collection contains many many LPs and 45s, it was important to find a stereo with a turntable. The Aiwa system I recently purchased was displayed with the PX-E860 turntable as an optional add on. I'll admit it looked a bit light weight compared to what I had been using, but with a 30 day return policy I gave it a try. The store that I bought it from (Sears) had it on back order but it was delivered with in two weeks.

Upon set up I found sound quality to be amazing, and all but my oldest records (those with deep grooves) played well on it. I was impressed with the almost gentle touch the automatic play feature displayed in placing the stylus...I could trust this machine with even my wax records. This same feature makes it very easy to operate, easy enough for someone who has never seen a turntable to play a record without damaging it.
My only dislike was the fact that it was not part of the main stereo unit. It must be "piped" into the system via standard AV cables which are included. While this does not affect playback, it can require using higher volume than normal to record accurately onto a cassette.
