| imgood's Full Review: Aiwa XP-V516C Personal CD Player |
I have had bad luck with disk-mans for the last 5 years, every year my cd players would just stop working, or the buttons wouldn't work. Every time was something new. I couldn't bring myself to buy a expensive cd player because I am a cheap person. (yes i admit it) So last year i decided this was the last cd player i would buy that was under 100 dollars. The Sony XP-V516C is what i chose. It looked nice, sony is usually a good brand, and it was around 80 dollars, so i splurged my money once again for a cd player. I have not been disapointed yet.
The Sony XP-V516C is great it has features like, chnaging dsl, random, repeat one song or the entire cd, hold (so if you accidently press a button it won't disrupt you listening, EASS, up to 48 second memeory and a control on the earphones. The problem i had was figuring out how to work all the features. For instance to turn on random you have press stop and then the display button. You will have to learn all the tricks, which isn't a hard task. One feature i love is the control on the earphones which lets you control volume, stop, play, fwd, rev, and hold. I found this very handy, not having to reach for the cd player, but just the wire. However this bliss of the earphones came to a stop because they broke just from me carring them around in the bag. The earphones also didn;t have great sound. If you buy this cd player i recommend buying an extra set of earphones.
This cd player is great for running because it does not skip easily. I run everyday and it has only skipped once, but the memory comes in and just plays from where it has left off. The battery life is great also. Other cd players i have had used batteries lik water. This player is great, it has a 30 hour battery life. However when all features are in use the battery get used much quicker but it is still better than average battery lives. It also has a battery power gauge with 3 lights. A green for full, a orange for the middle and a red for almosy empty. The Sony XP-V516C is a great cd player, its tough (discluding the earphones) and very compact.
