Plastic organizers for craft items can be a great investment; you can store similar items in it or use it when you are going to a class to protect and store things. While Arko Mills might not be an instantly recognizable name, you can find these at some of the larger arts and craft stores at a reasonable price. There are two sizes in this style so if you are buying it online you are going to want to double check the dimensions so you are getting the size you want or need. The cases are stackable so if you want to keep your floss or thread separate from other supplies you can. Please note, the case is almost clear and the purple reference in the listing for this refers to the handle, the case itself is not purple.

If you have the choice between the small [twelve inch] or large [fourteen inch] boxes you might want to spend a little more on the larger one. That one comes with a removable tray and because of the larger size it can accommodate more items. The small case is four inches high, twelve inches long and six inches wide, the larger case is fourteen inches ling, eight inches wide and eight inches high. The price difference is about four dollars but if you want to eliminate having two smaller cases, getting the large one is great. If you are getting this for kids art supplies and have more than one kid, stick with the smaller one so you can keep their items separate.

The smaller case does not have a removable tray so if this is something that you are looking for from an organizer you are going to want to go with the larger version. The smaller one is great for a lot of non-crafting things. In the bathroom you can use it for first aid supplies [or even for a case for your vehicles], its a great organizer case for girls hair ties and barrettes and I have a couple of these for thin long base plate and larger Lego elements that can't get stored in the Plano Phantom. You can personalize this if you want to add some decorations to it; stickers will adhere to the case but permanent markers will probably last longer.

The cases can be stacked but only if they are the same size, if you have a mix of the smaller and larger boxes they are not going to stack. You can stack these three or four high before they start to get wobbly. If you have a child that has an art supply box for school, this is a great pick because you can write their name on it and it is easy to carry because of the handle. In that case the smaller one is the better way to go as the larger one might be too much for them to be able to carry without dropping. I have never had any of the lids break or the corners crack but that doesn't mean it won't happen if you throw this around or handle it roughly.

This is a step up from regular plastic shoe box styled cases that have a completely removable lid; the downside to this is if you are storing lighter things in it like pieces of fabric or cross-stitch thread you can end up with the case tipping backward when the lid is open. This isn't a huge problem but it is something to know before you think about investing in more than one of these to get your craft, art or hobby supplies organized. It is easy to clean out if you have grit or dirt in the bottom of it but because of the attached lid you are going to want to make sure it is completely dry before you start to put items back in to it.
