The Bottom Line: Beautiful hotel and casino in the center of the Las Vegas Strip. Maybe I just got there on a service lacking day?

Arrival: I suggest anyone who stays at this hotel uses the free valet parking option. We decided to self park in the garage and this was a big mistake. We had to lug our luggage through half of the Dessert Passage mall in order to get to the registration desk.. They off a free pedicab ride but there was no one to be found when we arrived right before check in time on a Sunday afternoon.
Check In: The line at the registration desk was huge but it moved fast through the switchbacks. The actual process of signing in took less than 5 minutes and the people at the desk were very friendly.
Room: the room we ended up with was one step up from the base room and they said that meant it was 100 square feet larger. We had a gorgeous view of the Bellagio from the 20th floor and could enjoy the fountain show from the room. Our room was equipped with a king size bed, small sofa, tv cabinet and closet combination and a desk that came equipped with a high speed internet connection. You could use their computer system or you could plug in your own laptop. I could not find information on how to set up the net connection so I called the front desk 6 or 7 times to get help and the phone was always busy. I have the feeling once you check into this hotel they kind of forget about you.
Bathroom: The bathroom came equipped with two separate sinks, a very large shower, a private latrine area and a large roman style bathtub. It took forever to get hot water but the bathtub was wonderful for a long hot soak. Also the bathroom was the size of one of my bedrooms in my house at home.
Casino: I did not play long in the casino but I did manage to play the slots for a hour or so. I joined the slot club and ended up winning about $60 on my $5 in nickels I started with. I stopped while I was ahead. The casino people were not rude but not especially friendly either.
Food: I noticed about 4 restaurants here including the typical Vegas buffet and steak houses. We chose to eat at PF Changs China Bistro. Very good food for about $15 per person and the people who work here were very friendly and attentive. The hotel also boasts that it has its own Starbucks and I cruised by there about 8am on Monday morning to find it had a line of about 30 people. Starbucks seemed to be the only place to get a quick snack and it was packed so I skipped it.
Check out: They offer a quick check out process but no one really explains how it works. I tried to do it over the tv but it did not work. Tried three times. I called the extension they gave me for the check out process and it was just a voice mail machine where I left my name and room number. Had no idea what to do with the room keys! I wrapped the room keys in a copy of the receipt they gave me when I checked in and deposited them in a box at the elevator in the casino. I think this worked fine but with no real direction on what to do, it was confusing. After we got our bags we had to trek back through the mall again to get to our vehicle. Like I said before, use the valet service, this walking through the mall was a total joke.
Overall I was happy with the room and the hotel as a whole. The view was impressive and the room was very large for the price. I was not happy with the service we received and I am not sure if they were just short on staff or if this is always how it is here. Also I noticed this hotel did not have any children in it, I think it would not be a good one for families as there is nothing for kids to do. Better for conventioneers, couples and adults on vacation.
