This year my allergies hit hard so I decide to try this stuff. BIG MISTAKE. First it is expensive. I thought that it would be worth the extra money to not have to take it as often and to have it work through the night. Before taking Alavert my nose was running almost constantly but there was no pain involved and that night I had some trouble getting to sleep but I was still okay. Once I took Alavert I didn't notice much improvement in my runny nose and that night I woke up with the WORST pain I have EVER had associated with my allergies. It dried up the snot just enough so that I could no longer get it out of my sinuses but not enough to stop buildup. The result was that my sinuses got more and more full and I was in horrible pain. The worst part was that since this product is long lasting (a feature I first thought would be a plus) I was in pain for 24 hours (well, the remainder of the time which was about 14 hours) before it finally left my system and I could get some flow going again. Later that day I took some good ole DayQuil followed by some good ole NightQuil. Never again will I try Alavert... a horrible product! I threw the rest of the pack away just in case I have problems in a few months and I'm out of NightQuil... not that it is likely that I'll forget that horrible experience.
