Pros:Really Cheap, Softens Hair, Imparts Strength and Shine, Smells Good
Cons:Hard to find, no clever fragrance description on the bottle
The Bottom Line: It works well, it's cheap and it doesn't smell like fruit.
I've been a fan of Alberto VO5 conditioners for quite some time because they have no silicones in them. Some of them work better than others though. One of the biggest sources of contention I've had with the conditioners are the fragrances. The fragrances are all really strong and drive me crazy all day, plus I hate smelling like fruit. The worst of them is the Volumizing one or whatever it's called. The smell of that makes me think of an oil fire at a factory. Just yuck!

I'd never seen the Anti Breakage conditioner before and stumbled upon it at my local Family Dollar. I don't know if it's new or whatever but out of all the choices in conditioners I saw there, there were only two bottles of this particular conditioner left. I opened one, took a whiff and actually liked the smell. I couldn't quite place it. Maybe a hint of blueberry but not really. I looked all over for a fragrance title, something VO5 seems fond of, but could find none on the Anti Breakage bottle. The anti breakage angle and the lack of 'cones in this conditioner was a big sell for me but I actually liked the smell of this conditioner too so I bought both bottles.
I really like what this does to my hair. My hair is afro kinky and I really feel like this stuff does what is claims to do, plus leaves my hair so soft and managable. My fingers slid right through and that's not an easy thing where my hair is concerned. I really really like it and now I'm nervous that I won't be able to find it again. I don't know if its a new VO5 or it's been around a while and is on the way out but I would definitely like to be a repeat customer for this particular conditioner. I'm on the hunt for more. Good job Alberto Culver!
