Pros: works fast, relieves headache and congestion, makes me sleepy
Cons: makes me sleepy, lasts about 4 hours, not 12, many warnings and allergy alerts
The Bottom Line: a good choice for headache and sinus relief when aspirin might upset your stomach, not for certain people (see warnings below)

| busby777's Full Review: Aleve Cold & Sinus 10 Caplets |
Not now, dear, I have a what are those little white caplets, anyway?
I used to take Sudafed and aspirin when I got an occasional sinus headache, but it is very difficult to get Sudafed any more. Because of some stupid drug abusers, you now have to stand in line at the pharmacy and show your drivers license to get this wonderful decongestant. I have not had time to do that. However, I did not have to wait in line for Aleve Cold & Sinus. And it has Sudafed, so it makes that dry gunk run out of my sinuses. Ah, blessed relief!
These caplets are supposed to last 12 hours, but I get about 4 to 6 hours of relief. During that time, I feel very drowsy, so I avoid driving or operating heavy equipment (actually, I never operate heavy equipment, anyway). I just lie down and usually fall asleep.
The Product
Aleve used to be a prescription remedy for arthritis, but now you can get it over the counter. It does seem to work about the same as aspirin for me, but without the stomach upset that aspirin can cause. On the other hand, the package says not to take Aleve if you are allergic to aspirin. In fact, it has lots of warnings (see below).
A package of ten costs about six or seven bucks.
Ingredients:
Active Ingredients: Naproxen Sodium (220 mg per caplet), Pseudoephedrine HCI (120 mg per caplet)
Inactive Ingredients: Colloidal Silicon Dioxide, FD&C Blue 1 Lake, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Lactose, Magnesium Stearate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Polyethylene Glycol, Povidone, Propylene Glycol, Talc, Titanium Dioxide
WARNINGS
Allergy Alert:
Naproxen sodium may cause a severe allergic reaction which may include: hives, facial swelling, asthma (wheezing), shock.
Alcohol Warning:
If you consume 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day, ask your doctor whether you should take naproxen sodium or other pain reliever/fever reducers. Naproxen sodium may cause stomach bleeding.

There are lots more warnings, so read that fine print carefully.

Closing thoughts
Despite all of those warnings, I have had good results with Aleve, and I never have suffered any side effects. Of course, I do not use it every day, just for an occasional sinus headache, maybe once or twice a month.
In most cases, it gives me relief long enough to fall asleep for the night or take an afternoon nap. Aleve does relieve my pain, and this formula also helps my sinuses to drain, so I can breathe better. I recommend it, as long as the long list of warnings does not apply to you.
Even so, you might ask your doctor first, before taking Aleve.
Thank you so much for reading my Epinion!
