We received the Alex Rub a Dub Talk of the Tub play cell phone as a supplement to a bath related birthday gift. I kept it because it was labled Phthalate free and because my daughter needed a new batch of bath toys that were made of plastic since her cloth puppets didn't excited her as much anymore.

Rub a Dub Talk of the Tub is a small blue play phone with yellow buttons and a blue sticker that represents the phone screen. It's small in size and wide enough for my daughter to grasp. There are two silver senors on the back, that when get wet the phone rings. The bottons on the front cannot be pressed down which is disappointing because I think it would be a much better toy if they could be pressed.

Alex Toys says, "Picture how much fun your little one will have in the tub with this awesome new toy phone from Alex! Just wet the colorful little phone to hear the tone and make pretend phone calls in the tub! Phthalate-free."

Playtime
My daughter plays with this in the bathtub but it's not a toy that takes up much of her attention. Once the water hits the sensors and the phone rings she'll pick it up and hold it to her ear (mimicing mommy perhaps?), but more often than not this toy gets thrown out of the bath in exchange for something more fun. I think that if the buttons were presseable and if the phone made more than just one ringing sound every so often then this would be a better toy that would get used much more often.

Durability
Within 3 months the sensor on the back of the toy began to rust so we were done playing with it. I'm not sure if it was because it's submerged most of the time it's played with but the durability of the toy isn't very good. We didn't have much luck with this toy mainly because it's sort of boring and was useless after three months because I didn't want my kid playing with a rusty toy. Avoid this toy if and when possible.
