Pros: low cost, fits well over most diapers
Cons: not for chubby thighed babies
The Bottom Line: While not pretty to look at, Alexis Featherlite Pants are an economical and very effective choice for a cloth diaper cover.

| DGTurtle2's Full Review: Alexis Feather-Lite Nylon Pants |
I ordered Alexis FeatherLite Pants when I first switched to cloth diapers. I was told that they were an economical choice when looking for a basic diaper cover. After putting over a year of cloth diapering experience under my belt, I would have to agree.
Alexis FeatherLite Pants are available in both pull on and snap on styles. The cover is made of 100% nylon and features snug elastic around the entire waist and around the leg openings. While I have heard that Alexis Pants are also available in both blue and pink, I have only ever seen white myself.
The pull on style of the Alexis Pants resembles the "rubber" or "plastic" pants of our mothers' and grandmothers' cloth diapering days. The cover is simply pulled on over top of a diaper.
The Alexis Snap Pants feature snap closures. A vertical row of three snaps is located on each side of the pant. These pants may also be pulled on with all of the snaps in the closed position. The cover may also be put on from an open position, to avoid having to remove shoes and clothing. Simply lay the diapered baby on the cover and snap each of the six snaps. The snaps make poopy diaper changes easier as well, since the cover can be snapped off rather than pulled down over a poopy diaper, which could be messy.
Alexis FeatherLite Pants are available in a range of sizes for newborn (4-10 pounds), small (10-14 pounds), medium (13-18 pounds), large (18-25 pounds), extra large (25-32 pounds), and even toddler sized (32-38 pounds).
I find that Alexis Snap Pants tend to run a bit small at the leg openings, but perhaps that is due to my son's chunky thighs. We have always had to move up to the next size very early due to the tightness of these covers on his thighs. At 30 pounds, even the toddler size cover, which should fit to 38 pounds, is too tight on his thighs. The rest of the cover does seem to run true to size, if not a bit large.
Alexis FeatherLite Pants are a bit poofy in appearance. The thin cover is easily compressed under clothing though. When I needed a trim look under clothing, I was sure to reach for my Alexis Snap Pants. These covers fit well over every diaper that I have tried... another definite plus.
For leak protection, Alexis FeatherLites are excellent. We have never had a leak when using these covers. While these covers may not be pretty, they certainly are functional.
All in all, I would say that Alexis FeatherLite Pants are a good choice, especially for those with economy in mind. Proceed with caution if your little one has those chunky thighs, but for most babies, Alexis FeatherLite Pants will provide a good fit and excellent leak protection all at a very reasonable cost.
