Alfredo's is absolutely one of the best restaurants in Atlanta. Because it is very unassuming, you won't know when you walk in and take in the decor what an outstanding place this is -- but you will when you experience the service and taste the food (which is VERY reasonably priced).
When you walk in, I have to admit, it looks a little like a dive, and often I feel I am the youngest person there. Lots of older folks (I am 30). But the seating is comfortable, and when you get settled in, you really start to soak up the experience. With the music and charming waiters, you really begin to appreciate the older-style decor. And the service here is consistently outstanding. Once you have been a few times, they WILL remember you, and you'll feel like you're a [adopted] part of the family. The staff people are all ethnic, although I think not Italian -- not that that matters, the food is outstanding.
Alfredo's always serves fresh garlic bread and relishes, gratis. One of my favorite items at Alfredo's is the escargot appetizer. Not only are the escargots themselves wonderful, but when you are done, the sauce left behind is excellent for dipping the fresh garlic bread in. For entrees, I don't think I have had better veal anywhere else. I always order Veal Francaise here, although I have never really had a good Veal Francaise in another restaurant. Veal here is high quality, nice texture, not fatty.
Nice wine list, full bar, excellent martinis, good selection of drinks, reasonable prices, outstanding service. This is one of Atlanta's best kept secrets.
