One of the Better OTC Cold Medicines Out There

Pros: Fast, Fairly Effective Relief of General Cold Symptoms
Cons: Pills are rather large

In general, I'm fairly skeptical of OTC cold medicines. For the most part, I've found that very few of them offer any kind of real relief. Many of them promise to relieve multiple symptoms but in fact do almost nothing.
Suprisingly, I did not find this to be the case with Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold Medicine (Liqui-Gels). On recommendation of my girlfriend, I decided to give them a shot after I developed a fairly persistent sneeze and runny nose. The first thing you will notice about the medicine is the size of the pills. They are BIG. While this is not a big deal for me, people who have difficulty swallowing pills or who do not like taking medicine may find this to be a drawback.
I didn't expect much after taking them. But within about an hour of taking the medicine, I noticed that my sneeze had gone away almost completely and my runny nose had been significantly reduced.
The medicine also claims to relieve headaches, and it contains acetaminophen to accomplish this task. Since I didn't have a headache, I can't really attest as to it's effectiveness, but I would imagine it would help.
Another important factor is that the medicine didn't make me drowsy. On several occasions I have taken "non-drowsy" medicine only to find myself nodding out in the middle of class or work. This wasn't the case with this medicine, so I can take it during the middle of the day with confidence.
