All-Clad Bakeware is pretty amazing
This large loaf pan is another great product from All-Clad that I have the luck of owning! All-Clad is known for its quality and I love cooking with their high performance pieces of bakeware! I alternate use between this pan and my SiliconeZone Bread Pan when I am baking bread in the oven. I like the flexibility of the SiliconeZone Pan and the ease in which the bread can be popped out. I like the crispness of the crust when I use this pan and bread comes out relatively easy because of the nonstick champagne gold surface.
All-Clad out of the Box
The pan itself is 12 inches long overall which includes the two convenient handles on either side. The cooking portion of the pan is a little over 10 inches long and the rest of the dimensions are as follows: 5 inches wide by about 2 ¾ inches deep. The pan has a slight lip all the way around it for easy handling and is also available in 4 ½ inch by 8 ½ inch version. This pan is made with the same standards as other All-Clad Gold Standard Bakeware and includes five-ply construction of two layers of stainless steel sandwiching an additional three layers of aluminum! There is also a scratch resistant non-stick coating that is bonded permanently to the inside of the pan and leaves a nice champagne or gold finish.
Using this Bread Pan
I have made some really nicely cooked bread and even brownies on this pan! I like the way it evenly cooks everything I put in it. It is heavy duty and holds up to fairly heavy use. It can cook other foods as well and I once used it for a cheesy potato dish in a pinch. The food heated evenly and was thoroughly cooked.
Food does not stick to this pan due to the non-stick Gold Standard surface. I used to use Pam with all my baking, but no longer find it necessary with the surface of this bakeware. It is safe to use it, however if you prefer. All-Clad claims that the coating is scratch resistant even to metal utensils. So far this is true even when I have used the occasional metal utensil. The coating on this pan and all the Gold Standard All-Clad Bakeware is different than Teflon and Teflon like products because it is bonded and part of the pan itself, rather than a coating.
Getting it clean
All of the All-Clad Gold Standard Bakeware comes clean very easily and sometimes simply by holding it under the water. I do have to wipe it down a bit more extensively when we bake with it, but for the most part nothing sticks to it. According to the All-Clad, the product is mad efor the dishwasher (yea!). I didnt know this until recently and have been throwing it in the dishwasher all along anyway with good results, but it is nice to find out I am at least caring for these correctly. This bread pan still looks brand new after many uses and rounds through the dishwasher.
Although I have another bread pan that I like a lot, too, this pan is a vital part of my kitchen. I have enjoyed consistent good results with it and am confident I will continue to do so for years to come. I honestly do not expect to ever have to buy another bread pan because of the durability I have seen already.
