All-Clad Square Cake Pan 8 x 8 x 2"


My love of All-clad products continues with a wonderful cake pan…………….:


This is another fabulous product from All-Clad! I have become addicted to these high quality high performance pieces of cookware! This square cake pan is from their highly acclaimed baking line and is truly everything that it promises to be. I have historically used the glass Pyrex or round aluminum pans for everything, but will never go back after using this beautiful pan.

Out of the box…………………………………………………………….

The pan itself is 8 x 8 x 2 inches and made with a fabulous five-ply construction of two layers of stainless steel sandwiching an additional three layers of aluminum. There is a scratch resistant non-stick coating that is bonded permanently to the inside of the pan. They call it something like vapor-deposited and it is an attractive champagne color.

This piece of ingenious cookware has handles on two sides for easy handling and good looks. It is a nice size for a variety of cooking jobs and can fit into both a conventional oven as well as a toaster oven.


Using the pan…………………………………………………………….

I love to use my cookware for a variety of tasks and this pan is no different! We are still in the middle of remodeling and I have been using a toaster oven while we wait for our oven to come in. This little pan is perfect for cooking dinner in the temporary toaster oven! I have made eggplant parmesan, nachos, and lasagna as well as brownies and bread. It has held up to heavy use and still looks brand new.

Anything that I cook in this pan is thoroughly cooked and evenly heated through out. In addition, food does not stick to this pan due to the non-stick surface. All-clad claims that the coating is scratch resistant even to metal utensils. So far this is true. I try not to use metal on it just because it is so pretty, but when I have not been able to find another serving spatula around, I have been known to run a metal one right through the center of the pan. It has come through with flying colors. The coating is nothing like a Teflon sort of thing. It is truly bonded and part of the pan itself, rather than stuck onto it.


Cleaning is simple………………………………………………………….

In addition to the magic of uniform cooking by true quality and workmanship, this pan is truly nonstick. NOTHING sticks to it EVER. I literally have turned on the faucet to soak it like a traditional pan only to find it come clean just from the trickle of water. For really baked on food, a simple light rub takes anything right off. It is truly unbelievable and I had to see it to believe it myself.

I am a dishwasher girl as you might know already if you have read my other stuff. I am unsure what the recommendation from the manufacturer is as to hand washing versus dishwashing, but I only use the dishwasher for everything and this pan is no exception. I have thrown it in there many times and it still looks like new!


Lastly -

We love this! The pan is really attractive and easily goes from oven to service at the table. I have found that it keeps the food warm as well for longer than I would expect. In addition, I can use any serving utensil I want because it does not seem to scratch from regular use. Fabulous product!
