Its hard to write a review about a colander. It just drains things, right? Yes that is true, but this All-Clad colander does it with such grace and style. It is truly amazing. I purchased this as a special gold box deal from Amazon. I was looking for a colander and it showed up for a great price so I ordered it. It is my first experience with All-Clad and I was excited to see how well it would perform.
I could not wait to use it so I made some pasta and was impressed with the amount that you could load into this. A quick swirl and all the water was gone. I use it for pasta, potatoes, veggies, fruits, and anything else you may need to drain. I think it works like a champ. It has really sturdy handles and a well built base to keep water from pooling up under it. It is really heavy and made incredibly well.
It is 18/10 stainless steel, 10.5 inch diameter, dishwasher safe, and has a lifetime warranty against defects. I have to say that when I use it I wash it right away. I have put it in the dishwasher, but worried while it was in there. It came out safe. But now I always hand wash. Dried right away I store it on top of the fridge for all to see. It is quite stunning and useful too. Unlike many things in my kitchen!! I highly recommend this colander if you want one to last a lifetime.
