When I told my husband and daughter that I wanted My Lil' Reminder Personal Digital Voice Recorder for Christmas, they laughed. When I said I was serious, they laughed even harder. When I said my memory just ain't what it used to be and because of that...well...maybe there wouldn't be any presents under the tree...they listened.

My Claim:
Okay, I am fessing up. I have become one of those people who walks into a room with great intent, gets there and says "What did I come in this room for again?". So when I saw a commercial for My Lil' Reminder Personal Digital Voice Recorder, I wanted one for Christmas. Yes, yes, I know...I'm a cheap date. I showed my husband and daughter an ad for the recorder in the Sunday paper (at CVS). The cost was $9.99 for two. At first, I didn't think I would need two recorders, but I've come to realize the two-pack was a blessing in disguise.
The recorder is a small, plastic, silver device. It's true, the recorder is about the size of a credit card. You can easily put this in your shirt pocket, pants pocket, in your purse, or even hold it. There is a key ring to add keys if you wish. And best of all, batteries are not only included, but already installed. There are three simple, self-explanatory buttons to use - you couldn't screw this up if you tried. One is for "Play", one is for "Record", and one is for "Light".
In order to record a message, you simply hold down the "Record" button while you speak into the device. Above the buttons, a small, solid red light will go on, indicating you are recording. You get approximately 20 seconds to record. You'd be amazed at how quickly 20 seconds goes by, so speak quickly. I have spoken directly into the recorder, as well as not directly into it and at a bit of a distance. My voice and message recorded just fine both times.
To play your message back, press and hold the "Play" button. This time, a flashing red light will go on while the message plays back. And finally, there's a neat little, built-in LED light at the very top of the recorder. Again, you simply hold down the button and the light goes on. I found this light to be very useful; when I am trying to open my car door or front door late at night and cannot see where to insert my key.
The only drawback I have found is that you can only record one message at a time. So if you need to remember where you parked your car and what to pick up at the store, you can only record one message. Or you can make like the guy in those TV commercials where they speed-talk at the end and leave both messages at once, within 20 seconds.
I keep one recorder at home, right on my night stand and the other one in my car. Now, instead of running around like a mad woman trying to find pen and paper every time I need to take a phone message or remind myself of something, I have my handy-dandy My Lil' Reminder Personal Digital Voice Recorder.
I'd give the recorder five stars if it would only record more than one message at a time, so four stars it is.
