| princeofwail's Full Review: Alpine CDA-7894 Car CD/ MP3 Player |
Turbocharge your MP3s with V-Drive high power! Alpine put their most potent MOFSET60 hybrid amp into the CDA-7894, so all your tunes will have the crankability they deserve. This versatile receiver plays MP3 files burned onto CD-R and CD-RW as well as standard discs. The CDA-7894 can also decode MP3 text info (ID-3 tags)plus CD text on its bright readout. The faceplate buttons can be illuminated in green or amber, so you can match your dash lighting. And if all that V-Drive power isnt enough use the super-clean 4 volt front, rear, and subwoofer pre outs to add Alpine bass engine amps and subs.
That explanation of the CDA-7894 was from cruchfields summer 2002 catalog and they dont tell you an eighth of the story. This receiver will knock your socks off with 60 peak x 4 watts. Normally using the receiver you would use the 27 watts RMS but during blasting performances you can use all 60 watts! I dont personally own one but I did install it in my friends 383 ci Caprice wagon along with SPR-694A 6x9 coaxials in the rear and SPR 174A 6½ inch speakers. Let me tell you, you could blast the thong off of of Pamela Anderson's enormus trunk! Anyone with a passion in sound should look into the Alpine CDA-7894 receiver. All the features including the time correction, the Media Xpander, and the V-Drive combine to make an incredible looking and sounding receiver that is definatlly worth the money.
