This will just be a quick review, since you can read the others for more info.
I had this unit for one month and then it shorted out on me. I sent it in for repair (they are very quick - within one week it was back in my hands), but then it wasn't working, had to send it back two more times and now I've had it for a few months without any problems, but some of the wires on the inside came loose, maybe our roads are a little too bumpy? Well anyhow, I'm rather satisfied with this unit, although it doesn't have the fancy displays that most other units have, they do have quick repair service and high quality sound. Isn't that what a deck should be about? The quality not the looks? I guess that is what Alpine thought and the sound quality makes up for the looks. I do recommend hooking this up directly to the battery like it says in the manual. It tends to draw a lot of current for the built-in amplifier.
Be warned - you cannot get this serviced unless you purchase it from an authorized dealer. I was lucky because the dealer on eBay was an authorized dealer. So ask them before you buy it in case you have any problems.
I have taken care of the face of the unit so it doesn't get scratched up like the other reviewers say they have problems with. I don't think it is all that prone to scratching.
