Satellite Radio Ready: Yes, The receiver is compatible with optional tuners that will receive digital satellite radio broadcasts such as Sirius or XM Satellite Radio. The digital satellite service must be subscribed to separately. I think the additional sound quality is worth the money.
RMS Power Output: 18 Watts, RMS: Root Mean Square is a formula that provides a reasonably accurate means of measuring and comparing continuous AC power. This is important for matching other components.
Preamp Voltage: 4 volts This refers to the strength of the pre-amp outputs. Generally, higher output voltages make it easier to get a cleaner and a more noise free signal delivered to amps and pre-amps. Keep in mind although AMPS are a GREAT TOOL for more power AMPS do put noise into the signal which does de-generate sound quality to a point.
Subwoofer Preamp Outputs: Yes, Typically found on headunits, a preamp output provides low level, high quality audio signal for use with external amplifiers.
Maximum Power: 50 Watts, The amount of power a speaker is estimated to handle during a brief high-intensity musical burst. Since this can vary with both frequency and amplitude, it is a much less accurate way to judge speaker durability and performance than RMS.
DIN: 1, DIN: Acronym for Deutsche Industrie Norm (Deutsches Institut fuer Normung), the German standardization body. A world reference standard for the mounting parameters of many common receivers ( Head ends) as well as other types of cables and equipment.

Now for the Nitty Gritty:
The unit is not all that tough to operate, READ READ READ the manual. If you do not you will get frustrated, this is not a typical OEM Stereo. It is a high end deck that has multi capable functions to allow for a very custom and fantastic sound!
Invest is Great, good will not be enough, but GREAT speakers and you will be struck with sound like nothing you have ever heard before, If you need it louder get an amplifier also of GREAT caliber. Such as Soundstream, JL AUDIO, MB QUARTZ etc etc. A Sub Woofer is also a tremendous idea to get the full range of the unit. I have had a couple of high end decks in my time, and this is the only one so far I can't see getting tired of any time soon.
I especially like the Glidde Touch, allowing control of the music with a touch of your finger over the touch bar. If you have an Ipod well you can connect it as well.
The Biolite Display functions very well even in my convertible.
I ahve not found CD skipping to be an issue. I have this unit in my Corvette, although I do not aim for pot holes here in NY is can be a hard ride. I have not one issue with skipping. Although I have not tried an MP-3 with it other modes of CD such as CD-RW, and CD-R load up almost instantly with no delay.
The sound put out by this Head Unit kicked the Pioneer I had out of the consideration. Initially this was a try out from my local stereo store which became a keeper. The sound does not degenerate at all through even the most taxing of music. Either with or without an amp the unit has plenty of strong and clear power.
I would suggest this unit to anyone with complete confidence of satisfaction.
