Pros: Stylish design and easy to hook up
Cons: Poor sound, cheap quality, difficult controls
The Bottom Line: If you have to spend a little more money, do it. These speakers won't be satisfying.

Although these speakers sell for under $50, I expected a little more quality. The subwoofer feels as though it has nothing inside of it. The single volume/power dial is awkwardly placed horizontally under one of the satellite speakers. It is actually difficult to turn them on and off.
The sound is over way to bass heavy. The overall quality of the output is substandard.
After two weeks of using these speakers with my Dell computer, I switched back to the set that came with it - a pair of Harmon Kardon speakers. I get the feeling that Altec Lansing is selling the image of a three piece system, not the sound.
In an attempt to not waste these speakers, I tried hooking them up to my Rio Digital Music player. These speakers sounded even worse, producing way too many low frequency sounds drowning out the spectrum.
