In hindsight, I paid too much for these speakers that I got from Outpost.com for $41.66 because now they're on sale all over the place for around $20-30. Despite this, these speakers impressed me right away with their very strong sound. Their size is deceiving of the strong bass and clear sound that the two satellites and compact wooden subwoofer provide. These speakers are ideal for you if you're looking for strong, emphatic sound for a low price however, other more expensive Altec Lansing models are better if you're looking for clearer treble and sound that has more presence. For example, the ACS 33's dont exactly fill the room with sound, as oppose to the flat panel ATP 3's. With the ACS 33's you can distinguish more closely where the sound is originating from within the room, whereas other models produce sound that surrounds you a bit more. Another drawback of these speakers is that they only have one on-panel control... the volume. This means that the bass and treble will be at a fixed level, so you cannot adjust the sound.
