Pros: Great Sound, Good looks, easy hook-up
Cons: Bass a little overpowering
The Bottom Line: I think it will be hard within the same price range to find a better looking or sounding speaker system.

Well after buying a new computer box, I decided it was time to upgrade my speaker system from the cheap media speakers that came with my old outdated computer.
Now what kind of sound was I looking for?
I do not play any of those crash boom games on my computer, so I was looking for a nice set of speakers, where highs and mid range blend well together with a nice clean deep bass response. After a lot of research on web sites I decided that I would buy these speakers, and went on line to buy them from Future Shop for $43.98.
The speakers
They arrived in a couple of days, packaged extremely well. They are an extremely good looking set of speakers, and the looks alone is almost worth the money. The colour coded wires from the two satellite speakers plug into the colour coded USB ports, and as a result becomes idiot proof. The big woofer has a thick cable, with a din plug and connects to one of the satellites. I have parked my satellites on each side of my monitor, and have the woofer 4 feet away on the other side of the desk on the floor, and out of sight. One must remember that the woofer is not shielded and as such must not be placed near the computer or monitor, as the magnets can ruin your hard drive. The manual recommends at least 2 feet distance. If it takes you longer than 2 minutes to hook up the speakers you are either not awake or stone drunk. My right satellite speaker has a nice green led, which lights when powered up, with an easy to reach on and off switch with volume control.
Well now tell us about the sound
When I first played a CD on these speakers the sound blew me away, and I was in total awe on how such relatively small speakers can produce such a high quality sound. The sound is clear, and the mid and high ranges well balanced making one think you are listening to a 1,000 dollar home stereo system. The bass here is awesome and booms. Perhaps that is my only small complaint as sometimes I find the bass just a little overpowering, but I can see it would put a smile on the game players faces, as they can hear the booms and crashes with realistic sound effects.
