| luckyboy's Full Review: Altec Lansing ACS 48 2 Speakers |
I got my ACS48 almost two years ago and I have been nothing but pleased with them. They are the most powerful speaker in the "three speaker" category that Altec Lansing makes. They put 20 Watts per channel and and 40 watts to the Subwofer! The sub is so powerful you can feel the air moving around it. There quality is quite excellent, I use them as my computer speakers, but I often plug a cd player into one of their two 1/8th of an inch stereo inputs. The controls are a bit too simple, there sub base volume is in an in-convenient place at the back of the sub woofer. The woofer is not shielded like the satellite speakers, so watch out around sensitive media and electronics. The sub is also heavy and large. If you are looking for good computer speakers, these are the ones that you want. Don’t by the USB version unless you have a good reason, what that reason might be, I cannot guess.
