Buyer Beware!!

Pros: Good sound, while it lasts.

Cons: Horrible factory support.

This speaker system provided premium sound for the first 15 months that I owned it. Unfortunately, the speakers died after approx. 15 months of average use, and would simply not power up (I did not abuse them with mind-blowing volumes). Altec refused to assist me, advising me that I was on my own to try to repair these $140 speakers. I never imagined that I would only get less than 2 years service from these relatively higher end speakers, and was absolutely shocked at Altec's refusal to provide assistance. Altec needs a few lessons in customer service / customer satisfaction, and I must recommend that consumers look beyond Altec if service and support is any factor at all in their decision making process.
