| miconis's Full Review: Altec Lansing ACS 48 2 Speakers |
I picked up my ACS48s over the summer to add to my new second computer I built. I use these things mainly for listening to MP3s at extreme volumes and playing the occasional computer game. I used to own a pair of ACS45.1 speakers about 2-3 years ago but sold them off to a friend who offered me WAY too much, so of course I agreed to sell them at 75% of what I paid retail, and they were over 6 months old, but still worked great.
Back to the review...The satellites are a nice size. Not to big, not too small. The controls are very intuitive, but stick occasionally. And with 20 watts powering each of them they are by no means LACKING in power. The subwoofer, with its 40 watts of juice driving it, is unbelievable. I don't know how many times my downstairs neighbor has asked me to turn the thing down. I like my bass every once and a while and this things comes through 100% of the time.
I went out and listened to some Logitech speakers, Altec Lansings full line, and the Klipsch ProMedias. THe Klipsch ProMedias are ULTIMATE in computer sound, but I could not afford the $250 price tag. Soon enough though they WILL be mine. So from my listening to them all and my past pleasures with my Altec 45.1s I did not hesitate buying these monsters.
CHECK THEM OUT!
