These speakers blew me away the first time I heard them. They can easily fill a large area. I currently own a powerful JVC Mini-system and this thing just completely astonished me. My system has approximately 500W of power. This thing has a mere 80W. They sounded exactly the same. However the Altec Lansing 880 sounded much richer and fuller than my system, even though my system has twin subwoofers and huge speakers. I just couldn't believe that such a sound could come out of such a small speaker. They did not sound tinny and the subwoofer was not underpowered at all (Like most 2.1 setups at this price are) and don't distort at high volumes. I am actually going to give up my system for these. I encourage anyone to go out and listen to these speakers, you won't be disappointed.
