Altec Lansing ACS54
************************************************************
Introduction:
I have had the Altec Lansing ACS54 for well over a year know and I absolutely love it. The entire system was very cheap for a 5 piece system and is definitely worth the price. I bought it around $60-70 a year ago so it should definitely be much cheaper. For the price you pay, you get great performance from a well known company, Altec Lansing.
Here are the important specs of my computer just for reference:
Pentium III 500 Mhz
Sound Blaster Live Value
Nvidia Geforce 2 MX
About the speakers:
The set of speakers consist of 4 satellite speakers and a subwoofer. The subwoofer itself can output a max of 20 watts. And each individual satellite outputs a max of 5 watts. Therefore the total system power is 40 watts. The only controls on the speakers are one for volume and one for surround control.
Performance:
The performance in games has been remarkable with my sound blaster live. It is recommended to have a 3d sound card when using this system. This set of speakers is recommended for games. It works just as well when playing.
Conclusion:
I would definitely recommend this speaker system for those who would like an affordable speaker system for games and music. Although there may be much better systems that offer 5.1 channel and much more, this speaker system is for those that just want a decent speaker system and don't want a hardcore system.
