Cons: May be too strong for some, fresh breath doesn't last long, bad for your teeth

I have been a smoker most of my life and only recently have I kicked the habit. I have been smoke-free for about two months now and I think I’ve got it licked. One of the things I used to help me achieve this milestone is Altoids Peppermint Mints, although I assure you they alone did not make me quit. They did however help with my psychological habit while medication prescribed by my doctor helped with the physical addiction. I now jokingly talk about my new brand of menthols referring to my Altoids.
Altoids
Altoids are possibly the strongest peppermint mints you can get and may be too strong for some. On the package it claims “The Original Celebrated ALTOIDS Curiously Strong Mints”. There are many different flavors these days including a chocolate covered peppermint, chocolate covered cinnamon, and spearmint among others; however, these peppermints are my favorite. In contrast to some of the other flavors, the peppermint mints are 100% all natural using only sugar, gum Arabic, oil of peppermint and gelatin.
I use them all day every day as a replacement crutch for cigarettes but they are good after a meal as well and only have about 3.3 calories per mint. They do not have any fat or sodium and only 2 grams of carbohydrates from sugar. They can freshen your breath quickly but they are not so good for your teeth and if you use them as much as I do you will want to make sure you brush your teeth regularly because they will leave residue on your teeth if you eat them a lot.
Each Altoid is about the size of a large pill (think two Bayer Asparins one on top of the other). They have a chalky texture but you won't have long to notice the texture because when the peppermint kicks in (in about two seconds) you only notice how strong the peppermint is.
I buy them in this convenient 12-pack (actually, the one shown is a 6-pack) which contains 12 tins each with approximately 75 mints in them. One tin lasts me about as long as a pack of cigarettes used to even though I sometimes take 3 or 4 at a time. Hopefully soon I will not need my crutch anymore, but I will still enjoy Altoids from time to time and especially after a good meal.
