I bought The Altus Althetic Quick Trim Pack a couple of months ago and then went on vacation. I still have time to return it! I am desperate to lose weight. It seems that once I hit 50 my metabolism stopped working so for under $20 I thought I would give this a try.
What is this and what does it come with:
I got a thermal training suit, a waist trimmer and a 9-foot high speed jump rope. The instructions are to use this 3 in 1 combo for 45 minutes three times a week.
The waist trimmer is a black rubbery band (neoprene) that measures 38 ½ inches long by a little less than 8 inches wide. There is Velcro on one end that will stick to anyplace on the trimmer. Obviously if your waist is larger than the length of this thing, it won’t fit. We are told that “one size fits most.” The point of this is to trim and firm the waistline and if you believe that I have a bridge to sell you.
There is a 90-day warranty. It is not clear to me if tears in the thermal training suit are considered grounds for a warranty but that is a major complaint about this product and I must concur.
I got a top that has a few buttons down the front and is long sleeved and pants with an elastic waist and elastic around the legs. The point is to increase sweating, which we are told removes excess water and body toxins. Be aware that this excess water is readily replaced as soon as you have a glass of water, which you should do after working out! In addition thermal training’s intentions are to increase your body temperature, burn calories and increase your metabolism. It is also intended to keep your muscles warm but I just don’t buy the fact that anyone is going out running in this suit in the winter.
There is no doubt about it - this black suit is warm. I do sweat in it but the vinyl material (PVC) is flimsy and I really don’t like wearing it. I have had the Quick Trim Pack for a couple of months and will be returning it. I have been very careful with the suit and do not have rips in it yet but there is no doubt that a few more tugs over my head or around my hips will make this suit rip. The thermal suit dimensions are .1inches high by 30 inches wide by 28.75 inches deep.
The jump rope is …well a jump rope. It is a pretty green color and very light weight, which is why I suppose they say that it is a “high speed jump rope.” The handles are a very hard plastic and hurt my hands.
Jo’s Thoughts
So in the couple of months I have been using the Quick Trim Pack I can’t say that I have melted any inches off my waist. I am watching what I am eating but as far as sweating the pounds off, go into a sauna or your bathroom, close the door, turn on the shower, and do some pushups. If your bathroom is big enough you even get a jump rope for $1.99 and burn some calories. For that matter skip the sauna and just jump rope.
Jo’s Final Thoughts
I truly can’t stand the smell of the vinyl outfit and the smell hasn’t even dissipated in two months. It’s probably toxic! This may win the most stupid product award and I have reviewed many products. If for some reason you feel a need to try the Quick Trim Pack, please talk with your doctor first.
