Remember the Coopers behind Cooperstown (Reply to this comment)
by aohcapablanca
If and when I make it to Cooperstown (perhaps around Independence Day 2010 after an International Torch Club Convention in Youngstown, Ohio), I shall take you up on your implicit invitation to visit baseball's hall of fame.
But my main reason will relate to Judge Cooper, the founder of Cooperstown and his descendants, especially his son, James Fenimore Cooper, novelist (32 of them, including THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS), historian of the navy, analyst of European and American political systems, personalities and public and private mores.
See you there?
Cordially,
Patrick Killough aka tai chi panda aka AOHCAPABLANCA

ebay (Reply to this comment)

There are snipe services you can sign up for, some free, some free after a trial that you can use.
Ebay tries to downplay it, but the fact is that sniping wins auctions and wins them at lower prices than if the bidders did what Ebay wanted and kept outbidding each other.
If you want some links for snipe services, let me know.
Meanwhile, I'll be watching my White Sox play in Houston on big screen TV.

I'll probably pick up a Chicago White Sox hat, after they win the series.
