| chambemd's Full Review: Anna's Taqueria |
Let's get things straight up front...this isn't taco bell, or anything like it that matter. Sure, its just as fast, and probably even cheaper...but the taste is no where close. And I'll be honest here - if you are looking for the overprocessed fast food mexican taste and have that Taco Bell craving, Anna's is not going to do it for you But if you can expand your horizons, I think you're going to love it.
The ingredients are all really fresh and not overprocessed. Honestly, imagine taking really fresh chicken, steak, vegetables, and beans and throwing them together. Gosh, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! The only thing that some people have a problem with are the tortillas they use...some people I've eaten here with say they are too dry and flour tasting, but they continue that "wholesome" ingredient trend. Also, while I haven't tried it myself, friends of mine have warned me to stay away from the Green Chili burrito...its intense.
If even only once, Anna's is worth a visit. Don't plan on eating it there...the tables are too small and the restaurant is too cramped (although the location on Harvard Ave has more room). But for a few dollars, pick up a quesadilla and a burrito - you're definitely not going to go aware hungry, and you've only spend a few dollars in the process. I've made plenty of trips at the spur of the moment because once the craving hits...
