| cmac0421's Full Review: Anna's Taqueria |
Anna's Taqueria, in Brookline's Cooledge Corner, is a must-eat. Anna's has two locations: the original restaurant on Beacon Street, and the second Anna's around the corner on Harvard Street.
At Anna's, you come in the door and get in line. At one end, you order your food, and as you watch the servers put your plate together, you have the opportunity to tell them exactly how much of that hot sauce to put on your tacos. Along with the requisite nacho chips, the choices range from burritos to tacos to plates, featuring chicken, beef, pork or vegetables. The food is served quickly, it's fresh and piping hot, and best of all, it's good. There's a bit of a kick but the food is not so spicy that you need to order a gallon of water to go with it. My personal favorite: The Vegetable Plate, which comes with rice, assorted grilled veggies, salsa, beans and corn tortillas. And the price? $3.95.
Anna's is always crowded. Though this is certainly a sign of a great restaurant, you sometimes have to wait for a table after getting your meal. In the summer, there are parks and benches within walking distance of both locations. In the winter, it can be more of an issue.
And after your meal, you can browse at the Brookline Booksmith or take in a flick at the Cooledge Corner Cinema.
