Anna's Ginger Thins, yum!

Pros:taste, amount of sweetness, size
Cons:high fat
The Bottom Line: delicious thin little crisp ginger cookies

I was recently at CVS looking for some snacks for my desk. When I saw Anna's Ginger Thins I picked up a box. It'd been a while since I'd had them and remembered liking them.

The cookies are a product of Sweden and are called 'delicate swedish cookies' on the packaging. They've been around since 1929. These cookies are thin, flat, flower shaped cookies (like four hearts together if you broke the cookie into quarters). They are crisp and sweet and I like them a lot. They can make some crumbs if you don't shove the whole cookie in your mouth, but they aren't too, too messy. There is a cute store on the packaging about how the cookies are also called Swedish Wish Cookies and how they should break if your wish is to come true.

The ingredients list isn't very long but it does include vegetable monoglycerides and sodium bicarbonate unfortunately, so the ingredients don't seem to be all natural. However it's mostly flour and margarine, with cinnamon, ginger, and cloves for flavor.

A serving size is 6 cookies and that has 133 calories, 48 from fat. These definitely aren't healthy, but that serving size is ideal for me. I get enough to make me happy without wanting to eat lots more, and often I only snack on 3. The box has about 30 cookies. In my work desk it lasted me about 3 weeks.

These are a great pick me up in the afternoon that satisfy my sweet tooth. They'd be great as a snack for guests after dinner too I'd think. And I bet they'd taste good dipped in hot tea. They are pretty reasonably priced and I'd definitely buy them again.
