Pros:Non-stick, cooks evenly.
Cons:A bit pricey, but worth it.
The Bottom Line: I love this non-stick feature, and weight of this pan.

I purchased the Anolon Nonstick Rectangular Cake Pan to replace my old cake pan. I wanted a nice cake pan this time. I wanted one in particular that would be non-stick. I was tired of using cheap pans, that would cook unevenly, and stick to the sides. I will never purchase those cheap aluminum pans again! You end up spending more in the long run, because you have to keep replacing the cheaper brands.

Description

I purchased this pan for myself, and paid $22 for it. It is 9x13, and features, 'comfort touch and slip resistant,' silicone handles. The pan itself is made from Carbon Steel, with a dark non-stick overlay. This item has a limited lifetime warranty. As promised: The handles, and pan can heat up to 500 degrees without any problems.

My Experiences

The slip resistant and comfort handles were no big deal to me. I have never slipped with a cake before, and don't really have one in my hand that long to be uncomfortable. So this factor did not come into play when I made this purchase. I thought that feature was a tad bit silly. I do appreciate the handles though. I have never had a cake pan with handles on it before. It seems a bit safer, when toting hot items. I was able to get a good grip on my pan, and my food won't be going anywhere except for being eaten.

I purchased it because it was much heavier than the cheap pans I had purchased in the grocery store, and dollar type stores. I wanted a pan that would last, and this appeared to be decent.

I am able to bake cakes, and can actually get them out of the pan to decorate them, without them falling apart. With my cheap pans, I noticed that whenever I try to make a butter cake, it ends up sticking to the pan, or falling apart. With the Anolon Nonstick Rectangular Cake Pan, I don't have that problem. This is one of the main reasons that I LOVE this pan. My kids like butter cakes for their birthday, and prefer this to store bought cakes.

I have noticed that with the Anolon Nonstick Rectangular Cake Pan My cakes AND brownies slide right out of the pan, on time, and ready with in seconds.

With my other cake pan, I notice that sometimes when I bake a cake, one side of the cake will be heavier than the other. I am not sure if it is because the cake pan itself is not level, or just how it bakes, because of the type of pan. With the Anolon Nonstick Rectangular Cake Pan, my cakes are very level. The cake seems to cook a lot more evenly.

I notice that when I make casseroles, or lasagna, that I am able to pull out the bottom layer of food, and it not sticking to the pan. I love that, because that is really the best part of the lasagna.

I do not use a ton of shortening to grease this pan before use, however, I do spray just a light spray of cooking spray along the base of the pan.

Clean Up

This is my favorite part! I can rinse this pan, and set it straight in the dishwasher, (bottom rack.) It comes out looking brand new. I can also wash it by hand, and can have it washed with in about 30 seconds. I let it soak for just 5 minutes, and then wipe it down with a dishcloth, rinse, and it's done.

Overall?

I love my Anolon Nonstick Rectangular Cake Pan, and plan on purchasing more of their bakeware. It is durable, easy to clean, non-stick, and looks like it may last me for years to come.

*Note: I forgot to mention that I do use only plastic or rubber utensils when serving, stirring, or other, to help keep the non-stick coating looking nice. I have not experienced any scratching.
