A good start to the series!

I was introduced to the "Myth" series many years ago by a friend of mine. I have since read every book in the series several times and like most series the first book is the finest, as it is here.
The Myth-Adventures of Ahaz and Skeeve are kicked off in fine fashion with "Another Fine Myth". Basically the plot is a young thief/magician's apprentice, Skeeve, is taken under the wing of a worldy (or is that other-worldy) magician, Ahaz, who has lost his powers. The catch is that Ahaz is a 'demon' from another dimension and the dimension that Ahaz and Skeeve are in is under attack from a crazy wizard who wants to rule all the dimensions.
Along the way Ahaz teaches Skeeve magic and together they set out to stop the wizard from taking over the dimension. Can they do it? Well, it IS a series, isn't it?
Overall I really enjoy this series. I feel that it's more suited to a not-quite adult audience but it's still a good read. The books are about short story length so they read pretty quick. This isn't brain surgery here folks, these books are light fantasy and that's what they do best. The later books get a little preachy but the first few are great! I would recommend these for anyone who enjoys humorous fantasy. You don't find that much these days, all the fantasy writers take themselves so seriously, it's nice to see a series poke a little fun at the genre.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any more Myth books on the horizion since Asprin (who promised several more) seems to have gone a little weird and is living as a street performer last I heard. Yep, his cheese done slid off his cracker. (I've been waiting to use that since I saw <A href= http://veganmeat.epinions.com/mvie-review-18DA-26ADAE7-39ABE0A0-prod1 >The Green Mile</a>.
