Pros: Small and cool looking. Sound much better than other small speakers like Bose.
Cons: Cost more than what some people think speakers should cost.
If you want a small speaker that can be mounted on the wall or set on a bookshelf then most people think of Bose. While the Gallo's are even smaller than the Bose and cost a little more they sound like music instead of a boom box like Bose does.
In addition, there are 7 different colors available including several gloss finished that look like a high end car finish.
They are more vertical because you can flush mount them into the ceiling along with having two different styles of wall mounts and two types of floor stands.
They must have the subwoofer that can either be purchased as a package or separately. Package options include two channel stereo or 5.1 theater packages.
As for a picky listener they are not high performance compared to other well designed conventional speakers but they were not designed to compete against that style of speaker that already has several great options like Paradigm, PSB, B&W, and Energy to name a few. However, in the Life Style speaker category the Gallo's will hold their own against other high end Life Style speakers and crush the main stream brands like Bose, Klipsch, Polk, and JBL.
They are so small that the binding posts work best with solid core wire unless you have speaker wire with Bananas or pins.
Gallo does make larger versions of these that are warmer sounding along with very unconventional full sized speakers that are very sweet and musical.
