As obscure as it may be; I am a non-seafood liking, Northwestern Native. Born and raised in Washington State. This sometimes presents a challenge when dwelling in an area that fish, crab, lobster, and other seafood entrees are preferred by many.
What is, "I do not like seafood, I do not like it fresh, I do not like it on the shore, I do not like seafood, ..... Lisa, I am," supposed to do when her dining partners prefer these entries? You compromise.
Located in north Everett, on the marina, you will find Anthony's Home Port that we frequent. It is nestled among an inn, some quaint shops, and a couple other eateries. The Everett Naval base is also close.
Anthony's Home Port provides the splendid seafood opportunity for those whom like it, and an array of other Pacific Northwest choices. They also offer a nice wine variety, other drink options, various appetizers, and scrumptious desserts. I am especially fond of the desserts created with seasonal berries. My favorite dessert is the mountain blackberry slump ala mode.
I found that one may order from the bar menu at any time. On this menu they offer a wonderful oriental chicken salad! It is an abundant serving. The greens have always been the best quality. The chicken is seasoned carefully, and is always tender. The slivered almonds are plentiful and present throughout. The dressing is of perfect texture, and is a great blend; that compliments the salad wonderfully. The sourdough bread that is served has always tasted fresh, been warm, and full of savoring flavor. The butter that accompanies it is chilled.
My dining guests and I have always had a superb dining experience at Anthony's Home Port! The hostess or host is prompt in greeting. The wait staff have always provided us with splendid service! The decor is simple Maritime. The establishment has always presented itself clean and well maintained.
I highly recommend reservations. Anthony's Home Port does become crowded on evenings and weekends. This restaurant offers a nice dining experience for a special date evening or even after a day out on your boat. Dress is anything from presentable jeans to semi-formal.
We generally request window seating. My highest compliments go to the waitress who took the time to point our eyes to the gorgeous sunset one evening! (Typical friendly interaction from the waitstaff.) The marina is an admiration point. Outside seating accommodations are available during the warmer evenings (do bring a jacket if this is your intent).
Although I know that well-behaved children are welcome, and mine were fine during their one visit; I do not rate this as a kid friendly eatery. This dining experience is best for adults.
Prior to discovery of Anthony's Home Port in Everett, the only fish I would even think of nibbling was my Father's special recipe. He has a special sauce that he bastes salmon with and then grills it over an open pit in his backyard. It is splendid, for fish anyway. Unfortunately, I have found that Dad now has some competition. Upon a recent dining experience, my darling husband persuaded me to try a few bites of his salmon dinner. It was everything a properly prepared salmon should be. So, maybe there is hope for "Lisa, I am" to acquire a seafood palate in the future.
